First & Willow

SWEAR I'm going to get to the point where I remember to do this more than once a month....

First & Willow is a lil' space on the interwebs that I've created to TRY and help contribute to my family by doing some of the things I love to do. Right now it's unorganized, messy, and just going at snails pace for the moment.
I love creating beautiful things. Sometimes those things are random and not cohesive at all. I love being inspired by things and actually doing them myself and making things for others and myself and my family. From party planning and decor to handmade pieces for my home, I've been enjoying tinkering with different aspects of DIY.
Click on the link above and check out the page and PLEASE help me get the word out. I'm ready to work for you & yours!

Summer Wrap Up

Fall started in my mind on September 1st...but NOW that's it's past the OFFICIAL first day of fall...I can freak out without anyone rolling their eyes! Until I start talking about all of the most basic stuff I love about fall. (Including being basic and loving it.)

But before I bust out the sweaters and boots, here's a look at our summer! Some awesome times, some oh-my-gosh-it's-too-hot-and-this-baby-needs-to-vacate-times....

 Frontier Park in Prosper
 Dallas Arboretum Children's Garden

 Meeting our new nephew Graham!
Tending to the fairy garden and eating peaches fresh off of the tree at Jess and SueSue's house

Fourth of July Jubilee all day at Little Elm Park
Meeting some interesting creatures at Grisham Farms
 Making Build-a-Bears with Grandpa
Learning about all kinds of fish at SeaLife Aquarium
 Visiting Daddy at work
Backyard Fun!

And of course ending the summer on a high with our newest baby gir!

Bring on the cider and pumpkin everything.
Bring on the fuzzy socks and hay rides.
Bring on the fall candles and cooler nights.

Oh wait...it's still 97* outside...

Kindergarten???!?!?!?!!?!

Our oldest C started Kindergarten this week. I feel like I've been preparing for it for about a year, but it still came so fast! She is in a dual language program in our district which adds fuel to the fire for me because I'm so nervous for her! She has no idea that it's not normal though so nothing has phased her yet!

Dropping her off Monday was bittersweet, and I think we handled it better than I expected! She's so big and after only five days seems to have things figured out?! She knows where to go in the mornings and they've given her back to me every afternoon.....so.....I guess we're ok?

This first week flew by as well and I know the school year will too. It's going to be such a joy to watch her grow in her academics and see how far she's come at the end of the year.

Now for the thing no one tells you about when you're sending your first off for kindergarten....
You have a SCHEDULE now?! Like, no planning impromptu trips to visit family? No random ice cream dates for lunch? No spontaneous play dates?! The ringing of the school bell has me in a headlock! But I'm so excited to see her at the end of the day and hear all about her new class and friends!

Copeland Grey (Little Woman #3)

Alright, I gave myself some time before being disappointed that I hadn't posted again sooner than now. I mean we did just have a baby. The third baby. There are children everywhere.

Copeland Grey came to us on the last day of July (which was good, since I made myself a promise that I'd never be pregnant in August in Texas).

This lil' lady wasn't little! By my standards anyway. My first two girls were 6 and 7 lbs.
Copeland was NINE. A full, even, NINE pounds. Needless to say the delivery was interesting. I won't bore you (unless you ask of course). My little large nugget is beautiful. Of course she is!

I already miss the hospital...

And now for a photo dump...my apologies...

We are adjusting to life with 3 and trucking along just fine! I had evidently forgotten everything I love and loathe about newborns. She's delicious and I want to hold her all the time and let her sleep in my arms all the time...until about 10pm. Which is when SHE wants to be with me all the time. Sleeping is more difficult than I remember with the others. I guess I need to stop comparing. They are all so different. Things that worked for my big girls have been thrown out the window. She has definitely made it apparent that she's an individual even though she's the third girl.

Her nursery is pretty much complete! Even though I haven't taken many pictures of it. My MILove made us the most beautiful garland for above her crib!

I'll be trying to keep up with this blog and Copeland's world as much as possible!

Back in the Saddle

Getting back into this again. I know what you're thinking. But it's been a looong time since I've posted anything or thought that I might want to continue this. I have always been horrible at keeping a journal, scrapbooking, or trying to preserve memories in any way shape or form. This seems like the most organized way I can think to do it! This will be mostly for myself and our family and close friends that care to keep up with it. But for whomever out there expresses an interest, bless you and thanks for starting this ride with me.

The next few weeks will be up and down, because we've got our THIRD girl due any day. And I mean ANY day. If she hasn't come on her own by the 31st....she'll be coming via induction.
Copeland Grey will be a huge change and blessing to our little house I'm sure.

See you soon with updates and pictures. Bare with me as I try to find a groove for this thing and organize our story for anyone who wants to partake!
